Steve Dodd


Born in the North East of England Steve started his working career in the Armed Services spending almost 10 Years as a front line soldier in a British Infantry Regiment. His service took him all over the world which included 3 operational tours.

On Leaving the military Steve went back to School to study Engineering in Lincolnshire in England. After working for a Large Construction Company (J Laing) Steve moved to South Africa where he opened his own training company. The company was sold to a National Training provider who required access to some of the high profile clients that had been secured by Steve’s company.

Steve then opened an IT company with a colleague in KZN, South Africa providing Software, Network and Hardware products and services to businesses in Durban. Eventually the company was sold to a larger company who required a presence in the Provence of KwaZulu Natal.  Steve then continued to work in IT, and was successful in opening Business in several African Countries, which are still operating today, although under new owners.  In 2005, Steve opened his third company, which acted as an agent to an up-and-coming Australian technology company to provide collaboration services for major projects in the African region.  This business proved successful and large projects were secured in South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda, before Steve moved to Australia in January 2008.

Since living in Australia, Steve has worked for high profile Engineering and Construction companies at an executive management level.

Whilst at his last company he successfully moved the business away from the depressed Commercial Construction business to the more profitable Engineering Construction increasing margins from 4% to 14.5% within 12 months. Part of these changes also included opening a Engineering and Maintenance Workshop to provide self-delivery services for the construction arm of the business.

In 2014 Steve started his consulting business in Brisbane using his experience and the Business Success Programme, Steve has identified the formula to help business owners unlock their potential by offering his clients a wide range of business skills that include;

Steve formal education includes a B-tech Dip. in MechEng, a Dip. in Project Management (PMBOK) and an MBA from RMIT, majoring in international business.

Steve is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (Post-nominals: GAICD)
